Logan loves running around and saying "boo" in people's faces. It's pretty funny. Sometimes he lets you know before he does it which is even funnier. "Mama, Me boo Mama". I guess "peek-a-boo" had a big impact. Halloween seemed like a good time to share that story, I guess. It really has nothing to do with halloween.
I got Logan a Rocket Ship costume this year. My mom used to make all of our Halloween costumes and for a split second, I thought of doing the same. Maybe next year. Logan and I play "rocket ship" frequently which is where my genius idea originated. When he is helping me in the kitchen, the chair he stands on is his rocket ship. If we have to move it, we count down from 3 and blast off. We've read a book or two that includes rocket ships, but it's not something you see every day. Enter YouTube. We watched a few shuttle launches on YouTube last week. He's a child of 21st century, that's for sure. I mean, I only had books and my imagination. Oh my, I sound like such a parent/old person. yowza. Oh, on another rocket ship note, Logan climbed to the top of the rocket ship at Scott Carpenter park (and back down) all by himself. go climber boy go!

We went down to Pearl Street Mall in Boulder for the Munchkin Masquerade. It's like the Mall Crawl for kiddos. The stores have an employee at the door handing out candy and kids are running around in their costumes. It's pretty fun, actually. I think my favorite costume this year was a 4 year old boy that was dressed like Bob Dylan. His hair was teased out into a messy 'fro, he was wearing dark glasses, had a harmonica stand around his neck and was looking pretty aloof. It was spot on. As my friend, Jeff, said "I wonder how that conversation went. 'Mommy, I want to be a tiger.' 'Um, no, how 'bout Bob Dylan?'"
Logan wasn't really into it at first, but then he started to have fun. Jessica coached him on how to trick or treat. In the beginning, he'd get a piece of candy, walk away and eat it. Jessica assured him that it was a better tactic to get as much as you could and eat it later. Um, thanks Jess.

Taking a break from the action |
Eventually, as usual, Logan came into his own. When a bowl of tootsie rolls was lowered to his level, Logan was really checking out the bowl. I saw 100 small tootsie rolls and couldn't figure out what was so intriguing. I said, "C'mon Logan pick one. They're all the same." At that moment, he roots around and finds a giant tootsie roll that was on the bottom of the bowl. It was hilarious. His eyes got huge and he had a big smile. Everyone standing around got a big laugh about it.
Laurie, Henry and Munchie were down there, too. We goofed around with them for a bit and eventually made our way to the St. Julien for some food and bevies together. It was a really fun afternoon.
