Spring is Complete

Our spring wouldn't be complete without a couple of desert trips.  The whole family went out for my birthday weekend.  The boys shuttled me (dropped me off at one point and picked me up at another) for a 16 mile run on the Porcupine Rim Trail - what a great birthday present!  Otherwise, we just took it easy.  It was very relaxing and rejuvenating, as usual.

Logan has been very interested in taking pictures with the camera.  Here is one of me he snapped while we were packing up for our first Moab weekend.

 We got rained on Friday night and Saturday morning.  Happy Birthday to me!

Logan put the candles in my cupcakes and the boys sang me Happy Birthday.  Yummy b-day breakfast treats.  A rainy morning ended up meaning a lot of coffee and some sugar while we waited for the weather to clear.

The clouds broke and I did a great, sunny long run.  I actually snapped a couple of photos on my phone but they got deleted before I could download them.  Porcupine Rim is a popular mountain bike ride and provides great views of Castle Valley - one of our favorite climbing locations.

The following weekend, Brian's parents arrived and freed Brian and me up for another kid-free weekend in Moab!  More effective than marriage counseling!  Not to mention less expensive.  Ha!  We dashed out of town on Friday morning and climbed Friday, Saturday and Sunday!  Oh my.  We met up with our friend Steve and his friends on Saturday night and shared the campsite below.  It was a hot weekend but so fun!

While we were in Moab, Logan was busy with Grandma and Grampa.  They went to the Butterfly Pavilion and many parks.  Logan showed off his climbing skills and generally wow-ed them with his use of language, creativity and laughter.

I'm grateful for the moisture but was really ready for the trails to dry out.  I was running in snow as late as the middle of May!!

In other news, Logan is a monkey.
