Clearly, not winning any blogging awards here. I think the only award I'm in the running for winning is scheduling too many things in a day/week/weekend/month/year. Which is one likely explanation for not updating the blog in a timely fashion. You can rest assured that if you're not reading about us it's because we're out doing something fun!

Logan is growing like a weed. After seeing him, most people are surprised to know that he's only 2.5 years old. He's tall and talks a lot. Around Christmas time, he was holding up his index finger and saying, "no, no, no, I know..." Usually something like, "no, no, no, I know Mama. You get your coffee and read me a book". That has evolved to "no, I have idea" with a similar type request after it (index finger is a more sporadic effect these days). "No, I have idea. You read THREE books and then turn out my light". He narrates what he's doing and also what has happened throughout the day as a recap. He whispers things when he thinks he'll get a "no" response: I want (in a whisper) cookie. He has a great sense of humor and we spend a lot of time laughing. Lately, we have been having fun seeing who can "do it first" (run to a ball, go to the pantry, find Pooh Bear, etc)

Long run in Salida, Colorado |
My work continues to stay busy. I've been working with most of my clients for at least 2 years and some as long as 7! It's fun for me to have a (working) relationship with so many of my clients as otherwise it's a pretty solo endeavor. Many folks came in for something specific and have continued with me for maintenance or new injuries. I've been ramping up my running which feels like a selfish act but I really enjoy it. The majority of my running is pre-dawn before the rest of the house wakes up. There is something special about starting your run in the dark and ending it after the sun has risen. It's usually insanely beautiful light and it is energizing (physically and also mentally in a Boulder WooWoo way) to go from the dark to the light. I have signed up for the Golden Date Dirty Thirty in early June. It is the 50k trail run I did last year. I'm hoping to crush my time but currently am feeling not that confident. In the end, it doesn't matter, so I'm giving my training all I can and I'll do the same on race day. We'll see what else may be in store for the rest of the year.
Brian is crazy busy with work which is great and also challenging for him. He's getting out climbing a bit more regularly - yay! We'd been climbing together a bunch at the beginning of the year but lately we've been playing separately more. He's working hard at getting stronger and hopefully, he'll get to do some cool alpine routes this year.

Morning Walk |
Eden J. Stinklepants has had better days. She started the year with a stick fully embedded in her paw on New Year's Day. And, at that time they diagnosed her with ACL tears in both knees. Ouchie, Ouchie!! She had her right knee repaired a couple weeks ago and the other leg will be in a couple weeks. She's doing amazingly well for the level of trauma the surgery required (restructuring the joint, basically). Poor girl!

Lots of love! |
These photos were in January. A spontaneous family day at the Roof Routes in Eldo. A little climbing for the parentals and a little swinging for the kiddo. All smiles all around. Logan hiked most of the way up there and then I gave him a ride back down in my backpack.

In a cave in Eldo. Looking for bears. |
In February, Logan had his first dentist appointment. He cruised through it, of course. He had fun checking out the instruments and chose cookie dough flavored toothpaste for the brushing. They were really great with him and I'm thrilled it was a great first experience.
Yes, of course he's climbing the shelves in the pantry. Oh my.
Brian's longtime friend, Brady, had a son a few months before Logan was born. Recently, they've been getting the boys together to play - sledding, climbing. Gus and Logan have a great time running around together. Today, Logan and I went to Gus' house for a playdate and they got out halloween costumes. It was a lot of fun. Gus is a mini-Brady, it's remarkable.
