We've been so busy. Logan turned two, my mom visited, I ran a 50K trail race, Logan and I were in a wedding, Brian has been climbing. I can't believe another month has passed. We are having a lot of fun though. So, here we are...another "month in review" style blog post.
Love this pic. Brian is such a great Dad. He reads to Logan often, they clean the house together and have other little projects like cleaning the truck and using the screw gun. My prediction for the future: building a tree house or ropes style course in the backyard. Logan is so fortunate to have a father that takes time to be with him and appreciates him. I am grateful for that.

Reading Knuffle Bunny |
Eden went tearing through the house one day barking and batting her paws at the door in our bedroom. I knew it was serious by her tone. I looked out the window and saw this bear on the same diagonal trajectory it has been on every time I've seen it (I'm assuming it's the same one). I grabbed the camera and got this. It was pretty cool and Logan was able to see it too.

Our neighborhood bear |
On May 20, Logan turned two. He likes to say it when you ask him how old he is. On a side note, he recently started counting to three! Woo hoo. I'm intending to take a picture of Logan in his Dad's shirt every year as a birthday tradition. Below is 2012. Hope it makes a neat book someday.

2nd Birthday Photo in Dad's shirt |
My mom came to visit for Logan's birthday. They have a lot of fun together. She took a bus from the airport to Boulder and we picked her up. Every time Logan sees a picture of Gram, he points and says "bus". His association is incredible to me. Really fun to watch him learn and develop.

Logan and Gram (my mama) |
We had a couple of Logan's friends and their parents over for a bbq while my mom was in town. I'm fortunate that I know several kiddos (with parents I like) that are within a few months of Logan's age. We even have some Ned mamas/kiddos to play with now. And, the boys are starting to actually play together.

Eden not wasting an opportunity |
I found it amusing that on Logan's birthday he started saying "No" and "mine" in an uglier tone than usual. He is still a sweet, sweet boy but it was like a light switch as far as development goes. I was glad to see that he is right on track. ha!
On June 2nd, I competed in my first ultra marathon, the Golden Gate Dirty Thirty. It is a 50k (31 mile) trail running race. It has 7680 ft of climbing and the elevation ranges between 8,000-9,500 feet. It was brutal and ridiculously fun. wow. The course is sort of shaped like a barbell - point is that there is not much of the course that you have to run twice. You run through open meadows, aspen groves, scramble over huge boulders, cross streams, climb a peak and finish on a screaming fast downhill. Brian and Logan cheered me on at aid station #3 and the finish line. I beat my goal by two minutes which I was pleased with and ended up placing decently in my age group. Hope to do it again, faster, next year.

Aid Station #3, mile 16 |
This past weekend, our close friend, Julia, got married. Logan and I were in the wedding. We were busy all weekend with wedding events. It was so fun. I love weddings. There is so much love in the air - with the couple and all their friends and family coming to support them while they take this step into married life. It's wonderful. I was fortunate to be included in the festivities.

Julia. Simply stunning. |
It started raining just as the ceremony began. So, we all huddled in the gazebo. I thought this was really great as it was this tight, intimate setting. Ryan was brimming with emotion and they just seemed so happy. Loved it.

Blowing bubbles |
Well, the McMahon Spring, as I like to call it, is complete. I thought we'd be having a chill summer, but things are starting to get planned (Adirondacks, The Diamond, Ridgway...). That's ok. That's how we like it, I think.
